Literature Text

Your memory may fade
with the passage of Time
As the moon cycles by
and the sun rises only to set
Have you forgotten?

Forgotten the passion of youth,
the heartache of women,
the pain of the inferior
Have you forgotten?

Forgotten bloodstains never leave,
and wounds that cut the heart
are hard to heal?
Have you forgotten?

Your memories are lost but
I remember

I remember
the bloom of the apple tree
with its pink-tinged blossoms,
the sorrow of orphaned children,
the cries of the poor,

I remember
A crimson sunset,
and cobblestones flowing with scarlet rains
Time may erode,
water will flow
and the wind continues to blow

But I remember
For my heart are the souls,
my hair the rivers,
my breath the wind,
and my body the land

I guard the truth
and will never yield to oblivion
I remember.
I don't know if the point I wanted to make got across, I hope it did, but even if it didn't I hope you still enjoy it!
